The Department of Computer Science (Belur campus) under the School of Mathematical Sciences invites applications from the prospective candidates for two faculty positions.

Position 1 : Assistant Professor- Data Sciences

Specialization: Data Sciences comprising Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Robotics, Data Mining.

Eligibility:

1. The candidate must possess a PhD in Computer Science.
2. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral research experience.
3. The candidate must have research publications (at least 4) in SCOPUS indexed journals in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
4. The candidate must have had Statistics as one of the core subjects in either UG or PG degree program.
5. The candidate must have either done real life projects in Artificial Intelligence, and/or used Artificial Intelligence techniques in doctoral and/or post-doctoral research.

Roles and Expectations:

• The candidate must be able to teach at master’s level specific subjects such as machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, Data Mining, computer vision, Statistics, and Linear Algebra, and pursue research in one or more of these areas.
• The candidate must also be willing to participate in administrative affairs of the department whenever necessary.

Position 2 : Assistant Professor

Specialization:  System Sciences comprising Cloud Computing, Computer Security, Big Data Technologies, Distributed Computing, IoT.

Eligibility:

1. The candidate must possess a PhD in Computer Science.
2. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral research experience.
3. The candidate must have research publications (at least 4) in SCOPUS indexed journals in the field of above mentioned specialization.
4. The candidate must have either done real life projects in topics of specialization, and/or done in depth study of the design and deployment of such systems during doctoral and/or post-doctoral research.

Roles and Expectations:

• Besides being able to teach courses like Database Design, Operating System, the candidate must be able to teach at master’s level subjects either of Cloud Computing, Distributed Computing, (or) Java, IoT, Android Programming, Computer Security and pursue research in one or more of these areas.
• The candidate must also be willing to participate in administrative affairs of the department whenever necessary.
