Admission for Academic Year 2026-2027

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the MSc program in Computer Science with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence or Theoretical Computer Science for the academic year 2026-2027.

Eligibility to Apply

• 3-Years / 4-Years Bachelors or Masters degree from any discipline in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, etc.) or Engineering from any recognised University/Institute with 60% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.
• Candidates (Male) who have finished studies in the above disciplines OR awaiting the results of the final exam are also eligible to apply (admission is subject to securing 60% marks in aggregate, relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates).

How to Apply

• Registration: Click here to register online and follow instructions sent in the email to complete the application form.
• Pay Application Fee: Submit the INR 300 application fee online.
• Upload Documents: Upload necessary documents (photo, mark sheets, certificates etc.).
• Download Sumary & Receipt: Save the application summary and fee receipt after payment.
• Admit Card: Check the portal for Admission Test/Interview dates and download your admit card when available.

  • NOTE:
    • There is a possibility for candidates from outside West Bengal to give the test in some select centres of the Ramakrishna Math / Ramakrishna Mission nearby. Probable locations are: Ranchi, Coimbatore, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Agartala. Students desiring to appear in the entrance test from such locations may send a request to the department after completing the online application process.
    • The request is to be made at least 10 days before the date of admission test. If the department fails to make such an arrangement, then the student will have to appear in the exam at the university’s Belur campus.

    2. Quantitative Aptitude:
       • Sets and Combinatorics,
       • Algebra (solutions of quadratic equations, inequalities, simultaneous linear equations, binomial theorem, series, AP, GP, HP, matrices),
       • Euclidean geometry, Coordinate geometry (lines, circles, conic sections),
       • Trigonometry (triangles, trigonometric identities, heights and distances),
       • Calculus (functions, limits, continuity, mean value theorem, derivative, maxima & minima, methods of integration, evaluation of areas using integration).
    3. C, C++, Data Structures and algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Automata Theory
  • All the questions are of multiple-choice type. The sample question papers available for download below:

  • Note: There will be negative marking in the admission test.
• Interview: The candidates selected in the admission test will have to attend a face to face interview in the Belur Main Campus of RKMVERI on the appointed date.

Hostel Facility

Hostel facility is available for a limited number of students who are serious and willing to abide by the hostel discipline. A rather rigorous procedure is followed for selection of students with the involvement of the parents in the process for better coordination. Students have to apply separately for hostel facility during admission (Hostel Application form can be obtained from Admission office). The students selected for the hostel will be informed separately.
