Indian Sign Language Generation
Overview
The Indian Sign Language (ISL) Generation task aims to automatically convert spoken or written language into natural and understandable ISL animations. As part of the ARGISL project, we are developing a sign language generation system that can translate text into sequences of ISL signs and render them through a virtual signing avatar. Our current research focuses on building a large-scale ISL lexical resource and developing data-driven methods for generating accurate sign motions, facial expressions, and smooth transitions between signs. A key objective is to produce fluent and natural-looking sign animations that are easily understood by members of the deaf community. Work on the generation system is currently underway. The long-term goal is to create a complete text-to-ISL translation framework that can facilitate accessible communication and help bridge the gap between deaf and hearing individuals. If you like our work and wish to support us, you can do so here.
Applications
As part of the ARGISL project, we have developed a prototype applications to demonstrate how Indian Sign Language genetation can be used in practice. This will updated soon.
