I was a professor of computer science at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai till July, 2015. Since then, I am a professor of computer science at RKM Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur, West Bengal (formerly known as RKM Vivekananda University). I am a Fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences since 1998. I was an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur for three semesters during 2017-2018. National Board for Higher Mathematics, Government of India, awarded me a visiting professorship for a period of two years during 2016-2018. I worked as visiting scientists at many reputed universities and research institutes around the world, and gave several invited lectures in the national and international conferences, workshops and in the institutes in India and abroad. I have been regularly reviewing papers for reputed international journals and conferences. Also I worked as a guest editor for special issues in reputed international journals. I am the author of a book and around seventy five papers in the fields of computational geometry, discrete applied mathematics, geometric graph theory, algorithms (sequential, parallel, on-line and approximation) and robot motion planning. I supervised four Ph.D theses. Citations of my book and papers stand very high in international standards within the areas of algorithms and computational geometry. During 1988 - 2015, I taught several graduate courses on algorithms and discrete applied mathematics in TIFR. Since 2015, I have been regularly teaching MSc students of computer science at RKMVERI. I also taught courses for B.Tech and M.Tech students of computer science in IIT Kharagpur during 2017 -2018. I chaired many sessions in the National and International Conferences. I was a member of Program Committees for several National and International conferences. Specially, I was a PC Co-Chair of the Workshop on Algorithms and Computataion, 2013 (WALCOM 2013). During 2008-2015, I conducted twenty-two introductory workshops on graph and geometric algorithms for teachers and students (undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral) of engineering colleges and universities at different states and union territories of India for motivating them towards algorithmic research. Since 2009, I have been involved in organizing several international schools in India for Ph.D. students of computer science and discrete mathematics. In 2015, I initiated a new annual international conference on algorithms and discrete applied mathematics (CALDAM). The 11th CALDAM will be held in February 2025. Since 2015, I am the Chair of the Steering Committee of CALDAM. 1. Computational Geometry and Applications
