Five-Day Faculty Development Program in Artificial Intelligence (01 Feb – 05 Feb 2021)

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Computer Science, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Campus is going to conduct a five-day faculty development program (FDP) sponsored by AICTE whose thrust area would be Artificial Intelligence. The FDP, scheduled for February 1 – February 5, 2021, will be in online mode and the first of its kind conducted by RKMVERI. 

The FDP is designed for teachers, researchers, scientists, and tech-enthusiasts seeking to learn and adopt Big Data tools, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques.

The list of topics covered are Data Curation and Visualization, Optimization Techniques, Supervised Machine Learning, Unsupervised Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Generative Adversarial Learning along with their Applications. The key attraction is Big Data Analytics and Case Studies by Faculty members and Industry personnel from India and abroad. 

You can register for the FDP anytime before February 1, 2021. 

For registration, please signup. After signup, go to the Workshops tab and select West Bengal and February from State and Month dropdown respectively. Then select the FDP organized by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (Application No: 1583694642)

Inauguration of Arya Computer Lab

It gives us immense pleasure to announce the inauguration of Arya Computer Lab located at Prajna Bhavan, RKMVERI, Belur. Arya Computing Lab  is a 30 seater computer lab newly setup with the generous funding of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This is located in  floor-4 central building, Prajna Bhavan, in fact in front of Bhaskara Lab,
This  inaugural event was held between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm on 13 March 2020 (Friday)
The programme schedule was as follows:
1. Name plate unveiling by Shri JP Sinha Executive Director, IOCL
2. Ribbon cutting at the entrance to the Lab.
3. Offering of flowers to Sri Ramakrishna
4. Chanting of hymns from vedas by the Monks and Students of RKMVERI
5. Introducing the Dignitaries of IOCL, and RKMVERI to the audience.
6. Presentation of mementos to the invited guests of IOCL.
7. Narration of a few distinctive features of the lab setup by Br. Tamal
8. Address by Mr. JP Sinha, Executive Director, IOCL, and others.
9. Thankful Acceptance Address by Swami Atmapriyananda Vice Chancellor, RKMVERI,
10. A short trailer (5 minutes) from the movie “Vivekananda by Vivekananda”
11. Vote of thanks by Dhyanagamyananda
12. Distribution of snack pack to all present.

1. Ph.D. in either of Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics

2. Two years of Post Doc experience in a premier institution in India or abroad.

3. At least three years of teaching experience in any University offering postgraduate courses

4. Must have experience in teaching the following courses for the post-graduate students:

  • Applied Stochastic Processes
  • Multivariate Statistics
  • Time Series and Forecasting
